Marlina – From housing instability to making $48 per hour as a Construction Engineer

Marlina joined the Milwaukee FSET Program facing housing instability, transportation challenges, and credit barriers. Despite these obstacles, she stayed focused, worked closely with staff, and remained fully engaged in the program.

Within just three months, Marlina secured a Construction Engineer position with Apex Consulting Engineers, earning $48 per hour—an achievement that reflects her resilience and determination. Her success highlights what’s possible with dedication and the right support, and the FSET Program is proud to have been part of her journey.

Theda – To being unemployed to switching industry’s to accomplishing her goals

Theda entered the FSET program after more than a year of unemployment and uncertainty about her future. With support from the program, Theda successfully completed the prerequisites needed for training opportunities. She attended the training provided by FSET and found employment working as a CNA.

She continued to look for other opportunities in the workforce and eventually she landed a job with the United States Post Office as a mail handler.

She credits her case manager and FSET for helping her discover new opportunities and achieve her goals. Theda will exit the program in June, grateful for the support she received!
